Support
Where to ask — and what people ask most.
One person answers here, and it is the one who wrote the code. Below the three ways to reach us are the questions that actually arrive, with the short answer and where the long one lives.
Using the free plugin
Start with the handbook and the troubleshooting guide — the assistant in the corner answers from those same pages and is faster than waiting for us. Found a bug? Write to support@doozly.link; a bug report is worth having whichever version found it.
Questions about the free version can also go to its support forum on WordPress.org, where a thread also helps the next person.
With a Premium licence
Support for licence holders is by email at support@doozly.link. It saves a round trip if you include four things: your licence key, WordPress and PHP version, the shortcode that misbehaves, and what you expected instead.
The Health tab inside the plugin often answers first. It looks for the mistakes that cost money without breaking anything — a missing tag, an ASIN that is not valid in a store you route to.
Invoices, payments, refunds
Freemius sells and invoices Premium as merchant of record, so copies of invoices, payment methods and cancellations are handled through them. Ask us anyway if you are unsure where a question belongs and we will route it.
Refunds inside the first fourteen days need no reason. Write from the address you bought with; the money goes back the way it came.
Before you buy
How many websites does one licence cover?
One, three or ten, depending on the tier. A website means one WordPress installation. Staging and development copies of a licensed site are free and do not count against your tier — you do not need a second licence to test an upgrade.
What happens when a licence expires?
The plugin keeps working. Your boxes, tables and lists stay where they are and keep rendering. What stops is updates and support — which matters more than it sounds, because Amazon changes its API and the geolocation services change with it.
Do I lose my settings if I upgrade or downgrade?
No. Both builds read the same settings, so every Associates tag and every saved box carries over in either direction. Upgrading is installing the Premium build over the free one; nothing is re-entered.
Can I try Premium before paying?
There is no trial licence. What there is instead: every Premium builder renders live on the front page — the comparison table, the review box, the bestseller list and the search grid there are drawn by the plugin as you look at them, not screenshots — and fourteen days to change your mind after buying, no reason needed.
Which WordPress and PHP versions are supported?
WordPress 6.1 or newer, PHP 7.2 or newer. Tested against WordPress 7.1 on PHP 8.2. If your host still runs PHP 7.0, the plugin will tell you rather than break the page.
Does the free version phone home?
No. It connects to no service of ours, sends no telemetry and ships no tracking code. The only outbound connection it ever makes is to Amazon, and only after you have connected an Amazon credential yourself.
When something does not work
The full answers live in the troubleshooting guide, which is written by symptom rather than by feature. These are the ones that come up most.
- The shortcode is printed as text instead of a box Almost always a code block or a page builder that escapes it before WordPress sees it.
- “Premium plan required” after paying The free build is still the active one, or the licence was activated on a different installation.
- Amazon says the connection test failed Credential in the wrong region, or an account without recent qualifying sales.
- A box has no price or no star rating Amazon does not return them for every product, and a box pointed at another store drops both on purpose.
- Geotargeting does nothing Usually the setting is off, or your own country is the one being tested — a VPN does not change it.
- Readers land in a store you earn nothing in No Tracking ID for that marketplace, so the link falls back to the store you nominated.
- A caching plugin breaks the boxes What to exclude, and why geotargeting survives a page cache when it is set up correctly.
- Reports shows nothing Counting is a tick box and starts switched off; nothing is recorded retroactively.
About Amazon’s programme, not the plugin
These arrive here every week and none of them is about Doozly. Short answers, with the full article behind each one.
What is a “preferred Associates store ID”?
It is the Tracking ID Amazon credits by default when a link carries none — the field appears when you sign up and again when you add a marketplace. It is your name plus the suffix of that store: -20 in the United States, -21 in Britain, Germany and most of Europe. Picking the wrong one costs commission quietly. The field, its format and what to enter.
How long does an Amazon affiliate cookie last?
Twenty-four hours from the click — and Amazon calls it a session, not a cookie, which is why it also ends the moment the reader clicks somebody else’s link. Put the item in the basket inside that day and the window runs to 89 days from the click, not ninety on top of it. What the window really covers.
What does Amazon pay per category?
Between 0 % and 10 %, set per category and changed by Amazon whenever it likes. The best-paying category is Luxury Beauty at 10 %, which is not what most people write about — and a cheap item at the top rate still earns less than an expensive one near the bottom. The current table, by category and country.
Why was my Associates account closed before I earned anything?
Amazon requires three qualifying sales within 180 days of signing up, and it removes accounts that miss it. Referring your own purchases does not count. What has to happen in those 180 days.
Can I still use the Product Advertising API?
No. It was deprecated on 30 April 2026 and the endpoint was switched off on 15 May 2026, replaced by the Creators API, which uses OAuth 2.0 instead of signed requests. Anything you read about PA-API access keys is out of date. What the Creators API needs, and what changed from the old one.
How can I tell whether a link is an affiliate link?
Look for a tag= parameter in the URL; that is the Tracking ID being credited. Shorteners hide it until they redirect. Paste a link and have it checked — it runs in your browser and sends nothing anywhere.
Nothing here matching? The assistant in the bottom corner answers from the same documentation and is quicker than an email. It keeps no record of what you type — only which of eleven topics the question fell under, so that pages like this one can be written from what people actually ask.
Start with the free plugin.
Install it, add your Associates tags, paste a shortcode. If you later want visitors routed to their own store automatically, Premium is a licence away — and every setting you made carries over.
